A Letter from the President
GEORGE BUSH
February 24, 2004
Dear Blackie,
I just received a wonderful letter from Robbie Robinson, author of Navy Wings of Gold. He asked if I had any suggestions and
thoughtfully asked permission to use a photo of me sitting in my TBM. Robbie also suggested that I send you a letter, so I am sending this to you through your friend, F. Willard Robinson.
I write now to commend you on your essay in Robbie’s book. It brought back so many memories, and it made me think about the trials and tribulations of the World War II days. It also made me realize, once again, that without your covering support I would undoubtedly have been captured, executed and cannibalized.
With warm regards to you and yours,
